Cookie Dough Truffles
1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate melting wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. (You can also melt the chocolate using a double boiler.)
2. If using, add the vegetable oil or shortening to help thin the chocolate for easier coating.
Coat the Truffles:
1. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each cookie dough ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated.
2. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing the coated truffle back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
3. Immediately sprinkle additional mini chocolate chips on top, if desired.
Set the Truffles:
1. Allow the chocolate coating to fully set at room temperature or place the truffles in the refrigerator to speed up the setting process.
Serve:
1. Once the chocolate is set, the truffles are ready to serve.
2. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Enjoy!
