Begin by brewing a mug of tea to perfection, ensuring a robust flavor that will infuse the loaf with warmth and depth.
In a separate bowl, place the sultanas and immerse them in the freshly brewed tea. Allow them to soak, absorbing the rich essence of the tea, while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
2. Mixing the Batter:
Once the sultanas have soaked sufficiently, drain any excess liquid, ensuring they are plump and infused with flavor.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked sultanas, whisked egg, and self-raising flour, gently folding the ingredients together until fully incorporated.
If desired, add glacier cherries to the batter, enhancing both the flavor and visual appeal of the tea loaf.
3. Baking in the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C, ensuring it reaches the optimal temperature for baking.
Grease a suitable baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Carefully transfer the prepared batter into the baking dish, spreading it evenly to ensure uniform baking.
