Peach Filled Cake with Dulce de Leche Buttercream

This recipe includes a quick and basic buttercream frosting where the dulce de leche can be swapped out for almost anything: lemon curd, fresh lemon zest, a couple tablespoons of cocoa, chopped strawberries, some peanut butter…you get the idea.
Ingredients:
For the Peach Cake:
2 cups cake flour
¾ tsp baking soda
⅛ tsp table salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
⅔ cup sour cream (light is fine)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
⅔ cup peeled and chopped fresh peaches
